Birthplace: Bedford, IA Resided In: Red Oak, IA Jean "Louise" Platt, age 72, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Saturday April 15, 2017 at her home after an extended illness. Louise was born in Bedford, Iowa on January 11, 1945 to Fred and Erma (Kysar) Wyckoff. She was raised in Bedford, Iowa with her sisters: Julia, Luanne, Carmen, Linda, Judy, and Laura; half brothers: Joe, Jerry, and Jack; and half sister, Joanne. Louise went to Red Oak High School and graduated in 1963. She later met Keith Platt and they married on September 20, 1965. They had a daughter, April, born in 1967 and a son, James, born in 1970. They lived in Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming, and Arkansas. Louise was a very intelligent, upbeat, optimistic person. She enjoyed making crafts, sewing, crochet, painting and drawing, song writing, piano playing, yardwork, birds, casinos, and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Keith, sisters: Julia Schmitt and Joanne Scofield, and brothers: Jack, Joe and Jerry Wyckoff. She is survived by her daughter, April and son, Jamie; grandchildren: Channon Kirkpatrick and Johnny LaRue; great-grandchildren: Jacob Vazquez and Matthieu LaRue; sisters: Luanne Lukat, Carmen Williams, Linda Russell, Judy Schooling, and Laura Greggs; numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Nelson-Boylan LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
