Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Bella Vista, Arkansas formerly of Emerson, Iowa Lorraine Hascall, age 85, of Bella Vista, Arkansas formerly of Emerson, Iowa passed away Sunday, July 15, 2001 at her residence in Bella Vista, Arkansas. Lorraine May Hascall was born June 16, 1916 in Red Oak, Iowa the daughter of Clarence and Laura (Peterson) Wedell. She was raised in the Wales, Iowa area and graduated from the Wales-Lincoln High School. She then attended Red Oak Junior College. Lorraine was united in marriage to Darwin Hascall on March 14, 1935 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Darwin and Lorraine operated Hascall Grocery Store from 1946 until 1956. Lorraine was involved in many community activities including the Mills County Election Board, Order of Eastern Star Chapter 121 in Emerson, Iowa where she was a fifty year member, and was a member of the Emerson United Methodist Church. Lorraine received the Grand Cross of Colors from the Order of Rainbow for Girls. In 1993 she moved to Glidden, Iowa to be near her daughter Lois. In 1996 Lorraine moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas where she resided with her daughter and son-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Darwin on November 11, 1971; and 2 sisters: Dorothy Elaine Shelton; and Clarice Ruth King. Survivors include her daughter: Lois Welnetz and her husband John of Bella Vista, Arkansas; son: Allen "Pete" Hascall and his wife Sue of Jonesboro, Georgia; granddaughter: Debras Linari and her husband Tom of San Ramon, California; Grandson: Daniel Hascall and his wife Marne of Indianapolis, Indiana; niece: Laurie Johnson and her husband Gene of Shenandoah, Iowa; great niece: Brenda Pudenz and her husband Craig of Kansas City, Missouri; great nephew: Brian Johnson of Montezuma, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
