Birthplace: Pottawattamie County, IA Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Lois Sellers Johnson, age 92, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Monday, January 5, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society. Lois Lucille Sellers Johnson was born February 21, 1922 in Pottawattamie County, Iowa the daughter of Clem and Viola (Wolford) Woods. She attended school at Wales Lincoln and was united in marriage to Clyde Sellers on May 18, 1939 in Rockport, Missouri. They lived in the Henderson area and Stennett area before moving into Red Oak in 1955. Lois was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, crocheting, camping, fishing, and her animals. Clyde preceded her in death in 1973 and Lois married Lance Johnson on January 14, 1994 in Nebraska City, Nebraska. Lance preceded her in death in 2004. Also preceding her in death were her parents; brothers and sisters and in-laws: Richard Woods; Ada and Howard Williams; Perry Woods; Maxine and Earl Marsden; Russell Jones; Joanne and Lawrence Orr; Raymond Galitz; Irene Johnson; and Paul and Viola Sellers; grandchildren: Tamera Dawn Maxell; Marvin Scott Maxell; and Angela Demanett Jones; and step-children and in-laws: Mary Jane Willhite; Terry Hilzendeger; and Dennis Chaney. Survivors include her children: Judy Maxell and husband Marvin of Red Oak; Clyde Sellers and wife Nadine of Red Oak; Harley Sellers and wife Danielle of Des Moines; Tom Sellers and wife Sheila of Drake, CO; Jeanette Demanett and husband Raymond of Shenandoah; Terry Sellers and wife Mary of Red Oak; Jeff Sellers and wife Betty of Grand Island, NE; and Art Sellers and wife Cindy of Council Bluffs; step-children: Dorothy Hilzendeger of Red Oak; Dale Johnson and wife Chris of Red Oak; and Juanita Chaney of Glenwood; step-son-in-law: Roger Willhite of Houston, MO; 32 grandchildren; many great and great great grandchildren; sisters: Billie Jones of Red Oak; Mary Galitz of Oakland; and Mabel McKelvey and husband Bill of Oklahoma City, OK; sister-in-law: Phyllis Woods of Red Oak; numerous niece, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ricky Rohrig officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or the Montgomery County Animal Rescue. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
