Birthplace: Villisca, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Lois Marie Bergren, age 91, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away, Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at the CHI Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Lois was born January 13, 1930 in Villisca, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Effie (Spargur) Neal. She graduated from Villisca High School in 1948 and moved to Red Oak shortly after. She worked at Eveready Battery Company where she retired after 30 plus years of employment. Lois was united in marriage to Dale Bergren on February 24, 1950 in Red Oak, Iowa. Four children were born to this union: Joy, Tom, Gary, and David. Lois was baptized at the Advent Christian Church in Villisca. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, attending all the kids and grandkids sporting events, babysitting the grandkids, Sunday dinners, watching game shows, and working puzzles. She was a loving mom, grandma, and great grandma. Lois was such an avid Red Oak Tiger supporter that she won the "Fan of The Year" Award in 2006. Preceding her in death were her parents; infant sister: Frances; siblings: Dennis, Luella, Mary, Robert, Betty, Ruth, and James. Survivors include her children: Joy Bergren of Red Oak, IA; Tom Bergren and wife Denise of Villisca, IA; Gary Bergren and significant other Robin Courtney of Red Oak, IA; and David Bergren and wife Shelley of Red Oak, IA; grandchildren: Lori Wise and significant other Mark Winston of Monument, CO; Shawnda Thornton and husband Jason of Papillion, NE; Angie Lewis of Hickman, NE; Jessica Vu and husband Dudley of Cumming, GA; Brandi Wichhart and husband Derk of Lincoln, NE; Jennifer Rowley and husband Corbin of Henderson, NV; Brandon Bergren and girlfriend Chelsea Cortez of Waco, TX; Blake Bergren and fiancé Kaitlyn Friday of Davenport, IA; Baylor Bergren of Red Oak, IA; and Bryton Bergren of Red Oak, IA; step-grandchildren: Richard Dozier of Red Oak, IA and Tina Bressler of Red Oak, IA; great grandchildren: Ashley and Andrew Wise; Audie, Creighton, and Ella Joy Thornton; Jacob and Taylor Lewis; Kaitlyn and Austin Vu; Drake, Baylor, and Weston Wichhart; and Ava, Brayden, Elle, Everly, and Shaeli Rowley; sister-in-law: Donna Davidson and husband Bob of Waverly, IA; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday, April 12, 2021, at the Evergreen Cemetery. Friends and family will meet at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel by 9:30 AM to go to the cemetery in procession. Visitation with the family will be held from 4 - 6 PM Sunday, April 11, 2021, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Athletic Boosters. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Masks are required.
