Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Enid Oklahoma formerly Climax, IA Lois Allen, age 82, of Enid, Oklahoma formerly of Montgomery County, Iowa passed away Sunday, December 17, 2005 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Enid, Oklahoma. Lois Maxine Allen was born February 4, 1923 in Red Oak, Iowa the daughter of Harry and Maude (Plowman) Shank. Lois graduated from Red Oak High School in 1940. In her younger years she was employed as a telephone operator and a store clerk. On November 20, 1942 Lois was united in marriage to Marion K. "Cotton" Allen in Maryville, Missouri. They made their home in the Climax, Iowa community where they farmed and Lois was a homemaker. She was a member of the Climax United Methodist Church before moving to Enid, Oklahoma in 1989. Lois was preceded in death by her husband: Marion "Cotton" Allen on March 25, 2004. She is survived by her 2 sons: Michael E. Allen of Carol Stream, Illinois and Denny Allen and wife Evi of Enid, Oklahoma; and three grandchildren. Graveside Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, December 22, 2005 at the Walnut Cemetery in rural Montgomery County, Iowa with Pastor Al Moore officiating. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 AM on Thursday at the funeral home to go to the cemetery in procession. Memorials are suggested to the Walnut Cemetery Association. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
