Logun Matthew Hughes, age 36, of Springfield, Nebraska, formerly of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at his home in Springfield. Logun was born April 12, 1990, in Shenandoah, Iowa, the son of Matthew and Kristen (Ray) Hughes. He was raised in Bentonville, Arkansas and Red Oak, Iowa. He graduated from Red Oak Community High School in 2008. He joined the U.S. Air Force and completed basic training before being medically discharged. Logun worked various jobs including construction, factory work, welding, mechanic, and was a city worker. His hobbies included fishing, camping, hunting, walking his dog, Axle, and attending his children’s sporting events.

Preceding him in death were his father: Matthew Hughes; grandfathers: Larry Ray and John Hughes; grandmother: Phyllis Hughes; and uncle: Bart Hughes. Survivors include his children: Olyvia and Isaak Hughes; his mother: Kristen Hughes; grandmother: Lana Ray; sister: Chauntel Blake Kinnison (TJ); and nephews: Kaiden and Hunter Kinnison; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial of the cremated remains will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the family.
