Birthplace: Montgomery County, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Lloyd Williams, age 85, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Thursday, December 14, 2006 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Lloyd George Williams was born October 9, 1921 in Lincoln Township of Montgomery County, Iowa the son of H. Lee and Marcia (Romig) Williams. Lloyd graduated from Wales Lincoln High School in 1941 and served in the United States Army during WWII. He was united in marriage to Darlene Darland on April 15, 1943 in Tarkio, Missouri. After WWII, they farmed near Nyman until 1950 when Lloyd and Darlene moved to Stennett, Iowa. In 1953, they moved to West Township where they farmed until moving to Red Oak in 1986. Lloyd later worked for Lee Wollenhaupt and the Farmers Mercantile. He was a member of the American Legion Lorraine Post #67, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Emerson Masonic Lodge and the Order of Eastern Star. Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters: Elois Williams and Kathleen Slump; two brothers: Donald Williams and Wilbur Williams; and a granddaughter: Julie Lynn Williams. Survivors include his wife: Darlene Williams of Red Oak, Iowa; sons: Jim Williams and wife Rosie of Bellevue, Iowa; Bob Williams and wife Sue of Red Oak, Iowa; Don Williams of Red Oak, Iowa; and LeRoy Williams and wife Laurie of Winchester, Kentucky; seven grandchildren: Denise Jennings and husband Bill of Malvern, Iowa; Deanna Till and husband Bryan of Bellevue, Iowa; Jeff Williams of Red Oak, Iowa; Jennifer Williams of Red Oak, Iowa; Jill Griffin and husband John of Red Oak, Iowa; Cory Williams and wife Amy of Princeton, West Virginia; and Kristin McCleese and husband Jamie of Winchester, Kentucky; 10 great grandchildren: Jordan, Colby, Breanna, Brandy, Zach, Shane, Christopher, Alex, Mariah, and Tyler; sister: Marilee Thomas and husband Vic of Red Oak, Iowa; brother: Joe Williams and wife Jackie of Des Moines, Iowa; two sisters-in-law: Lorraine Williams of Grant, Iowa; and Pauline Ruppel of Webster City, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday, December 18, 2006 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Pastor Gordon Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Farm Creek Cemetery at Henderson, Iowa with Military Honors. Masonic Rites will be conducted 7 PM Sunday, December 17, 2006 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with visitation with the family to follow. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
