Birthplace: Scandia, Kansas Resided In: Elliott, Iowa Lisle F. "Bud" Acree, age 86, of Elliott, Iowa passed away Thursday, August 12, 2010 at the Griswold Care Center in Griswold, Iowa after an extended illness. Lisle Franklin "Bud" Acree was born December 22, 1923 in Scandia, Kansas the son of Clare and Lyra Leona (Kirby) Acree. The family moved to Elliott, Iowa when Bud was in the third grade. He attended school in Elliott and later served in the United States Army during WWII. Over the years Bud farmed, worked at a Nursery in Shenandoah, was Janitor for the Elliott School and worked at the Elliott Senior Citizens Center. He was a longtime member of the American Legion. Preceding him in death were his parents; sister: Luella Petty; brother: Loren Acree; and brothers-in-law: Leo White and Carl Petty. Survivors include his sister: Leah White of Red Oak, Iowa; sister-in-law: Lorita Acree of Morristown, Arizona; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, August 16, 2010 at the Hillside Cemetery at Elliott, Iowa with Rev. Gordon Scott officiating. There will be open visitation at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel on Sunday, August 15, 2010. Memorials are suggested to the Elliott United Methodist Church. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
