Linda Joyce Smith, age 80, of Tabor, Iowa formerly of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Tabor Manor Care in Tabor, Iowa. Linda was born March 11, 1944, in Carbon, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Daisy (Hinkle) Meggison. She graduated from Red Oak High School in 1962. Over the years, Linda worked for Union Carbide, RO Mech and the department of human services. She was united in marriage to Donnie Smith on July 11, 1975, in Missouri. They made their home in Red Oak. Linda enjoyed traveling, taking care of her grandchildren, playing bingo, volunteering for meals on wheels and going to the casino.

Preceding Linda in death were her parents; husband, Donnie in 2015; her brothers: Howard Meggison, Marvin Meggison, Max Meggison, and Jerry Meggison; sisters: Rita Hilzendeger, Shirley Janssen, and Nancy Davis. Survivors include her children: Scott Smith and wife Elizabeth of Lantana, FL; and Angie Akers and husband Mike of Shenandoah, IA; grandchildren: Ashley Farmer and fiancée Ashley Reeves of Shenandoah, IA; Brandon Smith and wife Julia of Lantana, FL; Stormy Loiseau and husband Kyle of Lantana, FL; and Jordan Smith of Lantana, FL; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Norma Meggison of Glenwood, Iowa and Jo Alice Meggison of Red Oak, Iowa; and other relatives and friends.

A committal service will take place 10 AM Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Evergreen Cemetery.
