Birthplace: Monroe County, MO Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Lillian Crow Ditmars, age 93, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Saturday, October 21, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Red Oak, Iowa. Lillian Crow Ditmars was born March 7, 1913 in Monroe County, Missouri the daughter of Hiram and Ida Mae (Lawrenson) Crow. She was raised and attended school in Monroe County, Missouri. She was united in marriage to William Henry "Bill" Ditmars on May 20, 1930 in Monroe County, Missouri. Seven of Lillian and Bill's children were born in Monroe County, Missouri. The family moved to Imogene, Iowa in 1947 when Bill was transferred with the Wabash Railroad. Two more children were born in Iowa. Lillian dedicated her life to raising her large family. Lillian loved children. After raising her nine children, she babysat for many others including her grandchildren. Lillian loved spending many hours in her garden raising vegetables to feed her growing family. Lillian's one job outside of the Ditmars home was as a janitor for the Imogene Public Schools. Over the years she has resided in Stanberry and Maryville, Missouri as well as Red Oak, Iowa. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; daughter: Wanda Miller; son-in-law Jim Skahill; daughter-in-law: Mary Hughes Ditmars; son-in-law: Ed Fensholt; grandson: John Wayne Ditmars; granddaughter: Ann Ditmars; brothers: Bill, Rollie, Nelson, Wayne, and Dale Crow; and sisters: Lola Gibbs, Jewel Higdon, and Merle Ragan. Survivors include her children: Margaret Mae Skahill of Coin, Iowa; William Henry Ditmars, Jr. "Hank" and wife Charlotte of Farragut, Iowa; Rita Faye Taylor and husband Quentin of Cleveland, Ohio; Carl Leo Ditmars and wife Eleanor of Portland, Maine; Linda Lou Bonnes and husband Henry of Farragut, Iowa; Doris "Kay" Fensholt of Farragut, Iowa; Dale Edward Ditmars and wife Donna of West Dundee, Illinois; and Beverly Jean Trump and husband Charles of Liberty, Missouri; nearly 150 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; brothers: Cecil Crow of Illinois, and Lee Crow of Missouri; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak with Rev. Fred Bryson officiating. Burial will be in the Nodaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Maryville, Missouri. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Good Samaritan Care Center in Red Oak, Iowa. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
