Birthplace: Rural Wales, IA Resided In: Malvern, Iowa LeRoy Viner, age 68, of Malvern, Iowa passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak after a sudden illness. LeRoy Viner was born January 6, 1936 near Wales, Iowa the son of Merwin and Hazel (Vannausdle) Viner. He was raised in Montgomery County and graduated from the Emerson High School in 1954. He farmed for a short time and was united in marriage to Phyllis Nelson on October 7, 1956 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. LeRoy and Phyllis moved to Malvern, Iowa in 1959 and opened the Malvern Body Shop. They have lived all of their married life in Malvern. LeRoy was a member of the Malvern United Methodist Church, the Antique Auto Club of America, the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America, a former member of the Iowa Auto Recyclers, and a former member of the Malvern City Council. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents: Merwin and Hazel Viner; and his father-in-law: Arleigh Nelson. Survivors include his wife: Phyllis Viner of Malvern, Iowa; 2 daughters: Gina Klindt and husband Rod of Glenwood, Iowa; and Teri Speck of Bellevue, Nebraska; 5 grandchildren: Brad and Dustin Klindt of Glenwood, Iowa; and Erin, Tyler, and Emily Speck of Bellevue, Nebraska; sister: Deanna Viner of Red Oak, Iowa; mother-in-law: Grace Nelson of Omaha, Nebraska; sister-in-law: Pat Keyport of Omaha, Nebraska; brother-in-law: Cork Nelson and wife Pat of Cody, Wyoming; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday, November 1, 2004 at the Malvern United Methodist Church in Malvern, Iowa with Steve McKinney officiating. Burial will be in the Emerson, Iowa Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 2-4 PM Sunday, October 31, 2004 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to the Malvern Rescue Unit. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak is in charge of arrangements.
