Leora Lucille Jones, age 92, of Clarinda, Iowa, formerly of Goodland, Kansas, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2022, at Goldenrod Manor in Clarinda. Leora was born November 29, 1929, in Belvedere, Nebraska, the daughter of Perl Charles and Elsie (Polage) Arnold. She was raised in Nebraska where she graduated in 1947. Leora was united in marriage to Robert Jones on August 14, 1949, in Chester, Nebraska. They moved to Goodland, Kansas in 1959. Over the years, Leora worked in retail clothing sales where she met many people and never knew a stranger. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Goodland where she was involved in church circle and a member of the United Methodist Women. She was involved in many community and volunteer groups including the Goodland Arts Council and the Sugar Hills Country Club. She enjoyed the outdoors, riding her bike, exercising, and playing Bridge. But her greatest joy came from being "Mom". She dearly loved her children and grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Robert Jones on August 12, 2022; and sisters: Leota Baden and Leola Wittenberger. Survivors include her children: Janet Richardson (Rolland) of Clarinda, IA; Randall Jones (Mary Lou) of Colby, KS; and Lori Jones (Nicole) of Westminster, CA; grandchildren: Derek Richardson (Stephanie) of Coffeyville, KS; Gregory Jones (Kira) of Salina, KS; Amy Beal (James) of Clarinda, IA; Brent Richardson (Christine) of Hot Springs, SD; and Carrie Malusky (Ed) of Festus, MO; 13 great grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends.

Graveside memorial services will be held in Goodland, Kansas, at a later date.

Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel of Red Oak, Iowa, is assisting the family with cremation services.
