Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Stanton, Iowa formerly Red Oak, Iowa Lena "Mae" Miller, age 99, of Stanton, Iowa formerly Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the Accura Healthcare of Stanton, Iowa. Mae was born July 25, 1919 on a farm near Red Oak, Iowa the daughter of Eugene Richard and Maude Pearl (Comstock) Bryant. She graduated as valedictorian of the Strahan High School in the class of 1937. She worked in Shenandoah, Iowa at the nurseries and later married Ron Miller on February 14, 1964 in Shenandoah. She worked for Union Carbide Battery Company in Red Oak for many years and she and Ron made their home in Red Oak in 1977. Mae enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball, dancing, playing cards, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Ron Miller in 1999; brothers: Wayne, Clarence, and Ross Bryant; sister: Gladys Lorimor; and granddaughter: Shannon Michael. Survivors include her son: Bob Michael and wife Barb of Red Oak, IA; grandchildren: Shawn Michael and wife Cynthia of New Braunfels, TX; Stacy Hayes and husband Dave of Louisville, CO; and Nick Michael and wife Laura of Griswold, IA; great grandchildren: Austin, Kassidy, Dakota, Kaliann, Sheyann, Alexus, Kaide, and Charlie; sister: Dorothy Siegfried; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday, August 27, 2018 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will take place one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
