Birthplace: Omaha, Nebraska Resided In: Stanton, Iowa Lawrence R. Squires, age 67, of Stanton, Iowa, passed away Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Larry was born January 8, 1947 in Omaha, Nebraska the son of Donald and Bessie Mae (Avery) Squires. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam and returned to southwest Iowa where he was a carpenter for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Sally Davis. Survivors include his children: Stacey Squires of West Des Moines, IA and Jon Squires of Rainbow City, AL; grandchildren: Jazelle, Tavian, and Jasarah Smith of West Des Moines, IA; sisters: Violet Twombley and husband Lee of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Lynda Dufrasne of Red Oak, IA; brother: Ron Squires and wife Renee of Colfax, IA; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held 3 PM Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the Oak Grove Cemetery near Clarinda, Iowa. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
