Birthplace: Iowa City, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Lauretta Ann "Laurie" Kephart, age 56, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Monday, January 4, 2021, at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Laurie was born April 8, 1964 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Melvyn and Velma (Cozart) Threlkeld. She was raised in the Wellman, Iowa area. Over the years, Laurie had worked in nursing homes as a Nurse's Aide and a Rehabilitation Aide. Most recently she worked at Good Samaritan Society. Her hobbies included drawing, painting, knitting, sewing, and fishing. Preceding her in death were her parents and brother: Kenneth Threlkeld. Survivors include her husband: James "Butch" Kephart; her sons: Christopher Threlkeld and Felicia of Spokane, WA; Joseph Clayton, Jr. and wife Crystal of Spokane, WA; Sam Clayton of N. English, IA; and Joshua Clayton and wife Rachel of Spokane, WA; grandchildren: Audrey, Mason, Autumn, Andriea, Zoey, Zaelynn, Zakyra, and Odin; sisters: Virginia Threlkeld of N. English, IA and Barbara Threlkeld of Iowa City, IA; brothers: Danny Threlkeld and wife Jean of Richmond, IA and Richard Threlkeld of Iowa City, IA; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. There will be no services at this time. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
