Laura M. Anderson, age 98, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Laura was born March 20, 1927, in Montgomery County, Iowa, the daughter of Bert and Olive (Buffon) Penry. Laura grew up in Montgomery County and attended Stennett Schools. She married Victor Anderson on December 31, 1949, in Missouri. Over the years, Laura cleaned houses and was a cook at JD Café. She enjoyed watching cardinals and squirrels and taking walks.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Victor Anderson; son Gary Anderson; brothers: Francis Penry, Fay Penry and James Penry; and sisters: Elsie Orr, Mary Hammer, Nancy Penry and Shirley Penry. She is survived by her son: Larry Anderson of Red Oak, Iowa; her daughter: Debbie Anderson of Red Oak, Iowa; her brother: Guy Penry of Red Oak, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services have been postponed to a date to be determined.
