Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Larry Lee Lane, age 72, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015 at the Red Oak Healthcare Community. Larry was born January 9, 1943 in Red Oak, Iowa the son of Chester and Evelyn (Sandquist) Lane. He graduated from Red Oak High School and served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He worked in carpentry for many years, worked for the World Herald, and retired from Eveready Battery Company. Larry enjoyed working on cars, collecting guns, target shooting, and coyote hunting. Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include his children: Rick Guffey of Arkansas; Danny Lane and wife Cerene of Red Oak, IA; Brian Lane of Red Oak, IA; and Randy Lane of Red Oak, IA; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside memorial services will be held 2 PM Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor Len Taylor officiating. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with cremation services.
