LaDonna Marie Peterson Figley, age 83, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the Accura Healthcare of Stanton, Iowa. LaDonna was born April 5, 1943, in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Lyra (Bishop) Peterson. She graduated from Red Oak High School in 1961 and attended Southwestern Community College and some classes in Bellevue, Nebraska. LaDonna was united in marriage to Don Bullington in 1962 in Red Oak and they moved to Colorado in 1963. LaDonna was a stay-at-home mom until moving back to Red Oak in 1979. Over the years, she worked at the Red Oak Express, Oakview, and the county engineer’s office. She was a longtime member of Faith Community Church and Business and Professional Women. Later in life, LaDonna was united in marriage to Ray Figley in 1995. They moved to Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri for several years before moving back to Red Oak in 2011. LaDonna’s hobbies included reading, cooking, and boating.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Ray Figley; sister: Charlene Helm; and brother-in-law: Clarence Helm. Survivors include her sons: Jeff Bullington of Las Vegas, Nevada and Greg Bullington and wife Danna of Cheyenne, Wyoming; sister: Barb Wilmeth and husband Dave of Creston, Iowa; brother: Art Peterson of Red Oak, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.

Per LaDonna’s wishes, her body has been donated to science and there will be no service at this time.
