Birthplace: Atlantic, Iowa Resided In: Villisca, Iowa formerly Red Oak La Donna Marie Smith, age 73, of Villisca, Iowa formerly Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at the Villisca Good Samaritan Society. La Donna was born June 13, 1942 in Atlantic, Iowa the daughter of William and Mildred (Johnson) Fudge. She graduated from Atlantic High School in 1960 and was united in marriage to Edward Smith on June 20, 1961 in Atlantic. They moved to Red Oak where they lived most of their married life. La Donna and Ed moved to Villisca, Iowa in 2006. Over the years La Donna cleaned houses and was a caregiver to many including her animals. Preceding her in death were her parents and husband: Ed Smith on December 14, 2012. Survivors include her children: Rick Smith and wife Susan Johnson of Villisca; Marty Smith and Connie Sams of Des Moines, IA; Donna Hansen and husband Chris of Bull Shoals, AR; and Justin Smith and wife Kyla of Villisca; grandchildren: Michael Smith and wife Amy of Oakland, IA; Anthony Smith of Red Oak; Stephen Smith of Hastings, IA; Jamie Smith and wife Nikki of Mary Esther, FL; Travis Smith and wife Sonja of Clarinda, IA; Brandi Smith and husband Charlie Dissell of Ankeny, IA; Cody Smith and wife Laura of Madrid, IA; Colton Lasley and wife Jailyn of California; Vanessa Lasley of Cocoa Beach, FL; Sara Lasley and fiance Charlie Kelly of Washington, DC; Allen Gann of North Carolina; Jacob Hansen of Plattsmouth, NE; Dallan Smith of Villisca; and Cadence Smith of Villisca; many great grandchildren; brother: Allen Fudge and wife Peggy of Des Moines; brothers-in-law: Marion "Duane" Smith and wife Beverly of Carter Lake, IA; Charles Smith of Omaha, NE; and Don Smith and wife Edith of Carter Lake; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside memorial services will be held at a later date at the Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Food Pantry or the Montgomery County Animal Rescue. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel of Red Oak, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
