Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Kent A. Lyden, age 53, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Thursday, August 9, 2007 at the Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Kent Alleyne Lyden was born June 3, 1954 in Red Oak, Iowa the son of Warren and Betty (Larkin) Lyden. Kent's family moved to Shenandoah when he was very young. He graduated high school from Shenandoah in 1972. After school, Kent worked for Dobbs Construction as a mason for many years. He was united in marriage to Rene Glasgo and to this union was born a daughter, Emily. Kent loved playing cards, pool, dice, and computer solitaire. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, watching football, gardening, and always added a dash of salt to spice up life. Kent was preceded in death by his grandparents; John and Laverne (Hilding) Larkin; A.L. "Speed" and Deloris Larkin; and Paul and Hazel Lyden; as well as a nephew: Alex Lyden. Survivors include his daughter: Emily Lyden of Red Oak, Iowa; father: Warren Lyden and wife Helen of Rockport, Missouri; mother: Betty Bouck and husband Don of Casper, Wyoming; brothers: Larry Lyden of Casper, Wyoming; David Lyden and wife Annette of Casper, Wyoming; and Mike Lyden of Casper, Wyoming; sister-in-law: Rhonda Lyden of Red Oak, Iowa; nieces and nephews: Delton Lyden and Lynnsey Lyden of Omaha, Nebraska; and Stephanie Lyden, Ashley Lyden, and Dustin Lyden of Casper, Wyoming; companion: Shyrel St. Clair of Red Oak, Iowa; and many other relatives and special friends. Memorial services will be held 10:30 AM Monday, August 13, 2007 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Warren Wilson officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Kent Lyden Memorial. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
