Birthplace: Essex, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Kenneth "Kenny" Peterson, age 80, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society. Kenny was born October 12, 1934 in Essex, Iowa the son of Earl and Helen (Youngren) Peterson. He was raised in Page County and when his dad passed away in 1946, Kenny went to live at the Glenwood State school. He later moved to Page County where he was involved with Nishna Productions and moved to Red Oak to live in a residential home. He worked at the Nishna Productions workshop in Red Oak and for Pizza Hut in Red Oak. Kenny was a member of the Grace Baptist Church and The Red Oak Lions Club. He never knew a stranger and always loved to visit. Preceding him in death were his parents; step-father: Enar Olson; and step-brother: Douglas Olson. Survivors include his sister: Ruth Peterson of Elmo, Missouri; step-sister: Onalea Huff of Lincoln, Nebraska; and many friends. Funeral services will be held 7 PM Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the Grace Baptist Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Cremation will take place after the service and burial of the ashes will be in the High Prairie Cemetery at Elmo, Missouri. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Grace Baptist Church in memory of Kenny. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
