Birthplace: Montgomery County, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Keith Platt, age 70, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Friday, February 19, 2010 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Keith Platt was born June 18, 1939 in Montgomery County, Iowa the son of Grant and Columbia Platt. He graduated from Red Oak High School in 1957 and on September 20, 1965 was united in marriage to Louise Wyckoff in Red Oak, Iowa. Over the years Keith worked in the construction business dealing with plumbing and heating. He worked in Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska and Wyoming before moving back to Red Oak in the 1980's. Keith enjoyed woodworking, writing short stories, watching birds and squirrels in the backyard, and loved his cat "Tigger". Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters: Fern England and Ruby Butler and brothers: Donald, Denzel, and Ray Platt. Survivors include his wife: Louise Platt of Red Oak, Iowa; children: April Platt and friend Michael Gruen of Omaha, Nebraska and James Platt and friend Rose Ware of St. Joseph, Missouri; grandchildren: Channon Vazquez of Omaha, Nebraska and Johnny LaRue of Omaha, Nebraska; great grandchildren: Matthieu Keith LaRue and Jacob Keith Vazquez; brother: Roy Platt and wife Gretchen of Arizona; sister: Columbia Magnuson of Red Oak, Iowa; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday, February 22, 2010 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Pastor Brett White officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 2-4 PM Sunday, February 21, 2010 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements
