Keith Glenn "Skeeter" Perdue, age 70, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025, at his home. Skeeter was born April 22, 1955, in Red Oak, Iowa, the son of Stanley and Audrey (Clark) Perdue. He was raised in Red Oak, graduating from Red Oak Community High School in the class of 1973. He worked at Stan's Conoco for many years before starting a long career with the United States Postal Service. Keith was united in marriage to Carolyn Wedemeyer in 1983 and they were later divorced. He was united in marriage to Connie Lingle Coates on November 8, 2003, at the Stratton United Methodist Church north of Red Oak. He and Connie enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren, especially watching all their sporting events. In his younger years, Skeeter coached youth wrestling and football.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and nephews: Bruce Smith and Matt McCalmont. Survivors include his wife: Connie Perdue of Red Oak, Iowa; children: Riley Perdue and wife Dyan of Red Oak, Iowa; Whitney Harrill of Carson, Iowa; Matt Coates of Red Oak, Iowa; and Ali Duysen and husband Austin of Red Oak, Iowa; stepson: Aaron Williams of Council Bluffs, Iowa; stepdaughter: Sarah Williams of Red Oak, Iowa; grandchildren: Jackson Perdue and Sawyer Perdue of Red Oak, Iowa; Maddie Shanker, Emersyn Harrill, and Mason Harrill all of Carson, Iowa; and Brooks Duysen, James Duysen, Noah Duysen, and Kinnick Duysen all of Red Oak, Iowa; sister: Beverly Perdue of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the new location of LeRette Funeral Chapel at 525 E. Ratliff Road, in Red Oak. Burial will be in the Wheeler Grove Cemetery in rural Carson, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Athletic Booster for the wrestling program, the Lala Project, or the Red Oak Public Library.
