Birthplace: Winfield, Kansas Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa KEITH D. LEWIS After battling lung cancer for two years, Keith Duane Lewis, 75, passed away on October 28, 2011. He leaves behind his loving wife of more than 49 years, Rose (Andersen) Lewis of Red Oak, IA; his son Kevin and daughter-in-law Lisa Lewis, and two granddaughters, Kayla and Kallie Lewis, all of Milton, FL; a daughter, Sheri Lewis, of Alexandria, VA; and a son, Mark and daughter-in-law Debbie Lewis and grandsons, Erik Lewis and Brandon Halvin, of Red Oak, IA and Ryan and wife Mandy Halvin and great-grandson Travis Halvin of Gulfport, MS; brother: Kirby Lewis of Duluth, GA; sister: Carol and husband Clinton Scott of Newkirk, OK; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Born on January 7, 1936, in Winfield, KS, to Albert and Marilynn (Richardson) Lewis, he was raised in Newkirk, OK. Keith graduated high school in Newkirk, Oklahoma in May 1954 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy shortly thereafter. He proudly served his country for more than 22 years, rising to the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. He provided his family an amazing life, living in places such as the Philippine Islands, Hawaii, Okinawa, and in many locations within the United States. His life was an example of the joy and fulfillment one receives from living life in devotion to his family and his country. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 4, 2011, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak with interment in the Evergreen Cemetery immediately thereafter. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday November 4, 2011 at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer Association or the American Cancer Society. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
