Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Elliott, Iowa Kay Maree Keeton, age 75, of Elliott, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa. Kay was born May 6, 1942 in Red Oak, Iowa. She is the daughter of the late Robert and Edith (Artlip) Allen. She graduated from Elliott High School in 1959 and was united in marriage to Mervin Keeton on May 11, 1962. She was employed at the Thos. D. Murphy Co., Holiday Inn as Office Manager, and later worked for Parker Hannifan Corp for several years. She was a member of the Elliott Church of Christ. Kay's favorite pastime was spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed caring for those who were in need of assistance before her own health declined. She especially enjoyed spending time with her son, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and cousins. Preceding her in death were her parents and an infant brother. Survivors include her son, Rick Keeton of Celebration, FL; grandchildren: Rachael Peterson of Ladson, SC; Bobby Keeton and wife Crystal of Poulsbo, WA; Meagan Mattson and husband Dustin of Shenandoah, IA; and Jessica Haruna and husband Saana of Fairfield, CA; 5 great grandchildren; step-brother: Gary Allen and wife Marcia of Corning, IA; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery at Elliott, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. A memorial fund is being established in Kay's name. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
