Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Elliott, Iowa Kathy Elaine Perdue, age 63, of Elliott, Iowa, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society after an extended illness. Kathy was born June 28, 1951 in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Ira and Carrie (Billings) Perdue. She grew up in Elliott and graduated from Griswold Community High School. She has been a lifelong resident of the Elliott area. Kathy was united in marriage to Dennis Collins on October 29, 1971 in Elliott. Two children were born to this union: Dennell and Carra. Over the years, Kathy worked for Thos. D. Murphy Co. , D & L, HyVee, and most recently Good Samaritan Society. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Ruth Sperber, Rose Dahlin, and Dorine Billings; and brothers: Stanley and Evan Perdue. Survivors include her daughters: Dennell Harris Kenney and husband Bruce of Waxahachie, TX and Carra McCart and husband Matt of Thurman, IA; grandchildren: Phoenix, Cydney, Collin, Emma, Kyela, and Anthony; good friend: Ken Bowers of Elliott, IA; sister: Linda Wilkinson and husband Ron of Red Oak, IA; brother: Irvin Perdue and wife Helen of Carson, IA; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ricky Rohrig officiating. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Monday, December 1, 2014 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Cremation will take place after the services with burial to be at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
