Birthplace: Mills County, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Kathleen O. Harold, age 89, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Kathleen O'dessa Harold was born April 25, 1920 in Mills County, Iowa the daughter of Guy Franklin and Mildred Viola (McGrew) Jordan. She graduated from Emerson High School in 1939 and was united in marriage to Ruel Harold on November 20, 1939 at Wesley Chapel Church in Mills County, Iowa. To this union, seven children were born. They farmed in several different places in southwest Iowa. Kathleen moved to Villa Village in Red Oak, Iowa in 1972. She worked for over 25 years at the Spurgeons Department Store. Kathleen was a longtime member of the First Christian Church and the Rebekah Circle. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and singing with the Happy Warblers at the Senior Citizens Center. Preceding her in death were her parents; sons: Eldon in 1958, Allen in 1962, and Sterling in 1997; and her brother: Glen Jordan. Survivors include her children: Judy Smith and husband Dick of Red Oak, Iowa; Barbara Stormer and husband Gunter of Veneta, Oregon; Rex Harold of Vancouver, Washington; and Keith Harold and wife Paula of Essex, Iowa; grandchildren: Ryan Smith, Gary Stormer, Terry Stormer, Katrina Turbyne, Zachary Harold, Ruel Harold, David Harold, Roy Harold, Mecce LeClear, Scot Harold, Chad Harold, and Brent Harold; many great grandchildren; sister; Korliss Angus of Malvern, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. JoAnn Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Emerson, Iowa Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Friday, February 12, 2010 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
