Birthplace: New Market, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Judith Anne "Judy" Updegrove, age 73, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Friday, January 8, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Society. Judy was born January 11, 1942 in New Market, Iowa the daughter of Howard and Mabel (Hinkle) Meggison. She graduated from Red Oak High School and attended Beauty School in Wyoming. Judy was united in marriage to Ronald Benjamin Updegrove in 1964. They lived many different place throughout Ron's military career. Judy moved back to Red Oak in 1982. She worked for Mildred Parker Insurance and later D & L Corporation. Judy loved doing crafts, baking cakes, crocheting, working crossword puzzles, making anise candy, and spending time with her beloved dog, "Snoopy". Preceding her in death were her parents. Survivors inlcude her children: Tony Updegrove and wife Tina of Red Oak, IA; Lori Lukehart and husband Mike of Red Oak, IA; and Ronald Benjamin Updegrove II and wife Shannon of Red Oak, IA; grandchildren: Angie Burch and husband Rick of Colorado; Brandon Updegrove of Des Moines, IA; Erica Driver of Red Oak, IA; Jesse Wilwerding and wife Marissa of Germany; Kirstin Wilwerding (Dustin Danik) of Clarinda, IA; Tanner Lukehart and Elise Lukehart of Red Oak, IA; Ben Updegrove and wife Tabitha of Red Oak, IA; Brianna Updegrove of Pennsylvania; Colton Robinson of Omaha, NE; and Dayton, Haylee, and Jade Gregory of Wales, Iowa; 9 great grandchildren; brothers: Richard Meggison of Red Oak and Mark Weber and wife Linda of Overland Park, KS; and many other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held 2:30 PM Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Visitation with the family will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family of Judy Updegrove. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
