Birthplace: Rural Stanton, Iowa Resided In: Rural Stanton, Iowa Judith R. Nelson, age 89, of Stanton, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Red Oak. Judith Roberta Nelson was born August 1, 1918 on a farm southeast of Stanton, Iowa. She graduated from Red Oak High School and lived on the family farm all of her life as homemaker and caretaker for her parents. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and gardening. She was known for her cross stitched cards that she gave to family members. Judith was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother; her sister: Dorothy Mullen; and her brother: George Nelson. Survivors include her sister-in-law: LaRose Nelson of Stanton, Iowa; nieces and nephews: Susan Cavner and husband Larry of Simi Valley, California; Steve Mullen of Villisca, Iowa; Sonja Mullen Clark of Omaha, Nebraska; Laura Nelson and friend Doug Racine of Essex, Iowa; Arlene Smith and husband Danny of Red Oak, Iowa; James Nelson and wife Jenny of Ohio; Karl Nelson of Stanton, Iowa; and Anita Millikan and husband Shad of Elliott, Iowa; many great and great great nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jerry Lamb officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Monday, April 21, 2008 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Tabor Lutheran Church at Wallin. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
