Birthplace: Mt. Ayr, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Joyce Ann Petersen was born November 12, 1939 in Mt. Ayr, Iowa the daughter of Howard Burr and Rhondali (Coy) Brace, the second of six children. She passed away on Monday morning, August 27, 2007 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak following a battle with cancer. Joyce grew up in southwest Iowa living in Mt. Ayr, Lamoni, Gravity, Corning, Carbon and finally graduating from Avoca High School in 1958. In the summer of 1958, Joyce was married to Bill Wright. They had a son, Dale Robert. In 1965 Joyce was married to George T. Albrecht. The couple had a daughter, Cassandra Nadine. In 1980, Joyce was married to Lonnie E. Petersen and enjoyed the Iowa life. Joyce enjoyed gardening and canning food for the year. She also enjoyed bowling, crocheting, reading, camping, square dancing and riding her own motorcycle through the Colorado mountains. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Lonnie in 2003. Survivors include her children, Dale Albrecht and his wife Sandy of Arvada, Colorado and Cassie Decker and her husband Tony of Red Oak, Iowa; three grandsons, JD Albrecht, DJ Albrecht, Phillip Decker; three granddaughters, Alicia Decker, Katie Decker and Renee Decker; four brothers, Guy Brace and his wife Joan of Corning, Iowa, Larry Brace of Red Oak, Iowa, Terry Brace and his wife Sue of Centerville, Iowa, Bill Brace of Red Oak, Iowa; one sister, Penny Holste and her husband Cecil of Westminster, Colorado; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
