Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Joyce M. England, age 78, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away, Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at her residence after a brief illness. Joyce Maxine England was born September 29, 1929 in Red Oak, Iowa the daughter of Laurel and Edna (Richardson) Eggers. She was raised in Red Oak graduating from Red Oak High School in 1948. As a young girl Joyce worked at Moore's Donut Shop and other area restaurants. Joyce was united in marriage to Gaylord England on July 2, 1949 in Red Oak, Iowa. Over the years she worked for Houghton State Bank, Super Value Grocery Store, Hy Klas Grocery Store, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and the Union Carbide. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband: Gaylord England on August 11, 1976; and her sister: Theodosia Bell. Survivors include her children: Karen Jones and husband Dennis of Red Oak, Iowa and Norman England and wife Sue of Carroll, Iowa; grandchildren: Toni Smith and husband Zachary of Aiea, HI; Brandi "B.J." Stites and husband Kelly of Red Oak, IA; Brooke Chambers and husband Kyle of Red Oak, IA; Cole England of Walnut Creek, CA; and Sara England of Apple Valley, MN; Step-grandchildren: Carrie Shalters and husband Larry of Red Oak, IA and Mandy DeVito and husband Henry of Red Oak, IA; great grandchildren: Tanner Jones and Lexi Chambers; step-great grandchildren: Hannah, Andrew, Jacob, and Larry "Jay" Shalters; and Grace, Chloe, and Sophie DeVito; sister: Peggy Almquist and husband Kenny of Mesa, Arizona; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services will be held 3 PM Monday, August 4, 2008 at the Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends will meet by 2:30 PM at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel to go to the cemetery in procession. Visitation with the family will be held from 2-4 PM Sunday, August 3, 2008 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
