Birthplace: Pacific Junction, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Joyce Elizabeth Cashatt, age 86, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Joyce was born January 30, 1935 in Pacific Junction, Iowa, the daughter of Woodrow and Eunice (Shutts) Pulsifer. She graduated from Glenwood High School in 1953 and was a waitress. Joyce was united in marriage to Donald Cashatt on June 27, 1953 in Glenwood, Iowa. After marriage, they lived in Pisgah and Glenwood before moving to Red Oak in 1959. Joyce worked at Thomsen Bergren Hardware and later Houghton State Bank for many years. She enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, traveling in their motor home, wintering in Arizona for 25 years, and watching sports on TV. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Donald Cashatt on May 16, 2018; son: Daniel Cashatt; daughter: Donette Briggs; brother: Butch Pulsifer; sister: Jackie Wright; brothers-in-law: Jerry Wright, John Lincoln, Lynn Merritt, and Wayne Cashatt; and sisters-in-law: Betty Merritt and Marge Cashatt. Survivors include her sons: Doug Cashatt and wife Shelle and David Cashatt of Red Oak; grandchildren: Chris Cashatt and wife Jennifer of Red Oak; Stacy Querry and husband Travis of Red Oak; Shane Peck and fiancé Kyra Blatchford of Edgerton, KS; Samantha Kelly and husband Kevin of Red Oak; and Logan Cashatt and wife Lindsay of Red Oak; great grandchildren: Jacob and significant other Savannah, Jared, Ethan, Evann, Grace, Josie, Ruby, Annika, Kinzie, Macie, Nolan, and Emmett; sisters: Jeanne Lincoln of Glenwood, IA and Jeri Daniels and husband Rob of Council Bluffs, IA; brother-in-law: Roger Cashatt and wife Gloria of Glenwood, IA; sister-in-law: Nancy Pulsifer of Glenwood, IA; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 PM Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at the Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel by 1:30 PM to go to the cemetery in procession. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Monday, April 26, 2021, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
