Birthplace: Corning, Iowa Resided In: Villisca, Iowa Joseph Michael Philpott, age 64, of Villisca, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak. Joseph was born September 14, 1956 in Corning, Iowa, the son of Edward and Norma Jean (Stevens) Philpott. He was raised in Villisca, Iowa where he attended school. After high school, Joseph served in the United States Army for two years. He was united in marriage to Teri Mattson on June 10, 1978 in Villisca, Iowa. Three children were born to this union: Stacy, Joseph and Christopher. Joseph was an auto mechanic and a welder. He worked for ROMECH and Eveready Battery before owning his own shop, "Joe's Garage" in Villisca, Iowa. Joseph was united in marriage to Lori Johnson in 2001 in Villisca, Iowa. One daughter, Cierra, was born to this union. He loved working on cars, watching NASCAR Racing, and spending time with his family. Preceding him in death were his parents and sister: Mickey Ronfeldt. Survivors include his children: Stacy Anderson and husband Anthony of Red Oak, IA; Joseph Philpott of Red Oak, IA; Christopher Philpott of Winterset, IA; and Cierra Philpott of Villisca, IA; grandchildren: Kally Carmichael, Nathaniel Anderson, Jonathan Anderson, Aubrie Bebout, Addyson Philpott, Harper Philpott, Kianna Philpott, Talan Philpott, Ryker Philpott, Elyse Philpott, and Jerzi Philpott; brothers: Richard Dozier of Shenandoah, IA and Edward Philpott and companion Robin Jennings of Red Oak, IA; sister: Joann Dickerson of Missouri; and many other relatives and friends. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with cremation services.
