Obituary

Jolene Louise Johnson, age 68, of Stanton, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at her home after a brief illness. Jolene was born April 27, 1954 in Red Oak, Iowa the daughter of Ray and Margaret (Longinaker) Platt. She attended Red Oak Community Schools and later received her GED. She worked for JD Café for 15 years and then the Farmers Coop for 30 years retiring in 2016. Jolene was united in marriage to Allan Johnson on May 29, 1982 in New Market, Iowa. They lived many years in Stanton, Iowa. Jolene enjoyed the outdoors, doing yard work, and fishing and boating. She also loved spending time with her family, laughing, and going to the casino. Preceding her in death were her parents; brother: Clarence Dean Platt; and brother-in-law: Don Dever. Survivors include her husband: Allan "Rabbit" Johnson of Stanton, IA; children: Carrie Johnson and husband Mike Becker of Hopkinton, IA; Tracey Johnson and wife Jennifer of Villisca, IA; and Yvonnie Gord and husband Stephen of Dakota City, IA; 12 grandchildren: Kinsey Johnson and fiancé Damon Hulick of Madison, WI; Lucas Johnson of Hopkinton, IA; Logan Johnson of Hopkinton, IA; Trevor Maeder and wife Gentry of Shenandoah, IA; Dustin Maeder and fiancé Shelby Smith of Council Bluffs, IA; Ryan Maeder and fiancé Maeci Andrews of Villisca, IA; Andrea August and husband Chad of Mountain Lake, MN; Valerie Anglese of Crystal, MN; Alexander Gord of Ft Dodge, IA; Maxwell Gord of Ft. Dodge, IA; Ashlie Schooling/Gord of Ft. Dodge, IA; and Cody Gord of Ft. Dodge, IA; 3 great grandchildren: Hazel Anglese, Abby Pingel, and Harrison Anglese; sister: Sharon Malousek and husband LeRoy of Aurora, NE; brothers: Michael "Mickey" Platt of Red Oak, IA and Merlin Platt of Red Oak, IA; brother-in-law: Max Johnson and wife Connie of New Market, IA; sister-in-law: Gaynel Dever of Papillion, NE; and many other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held 11 AM Saturday, July 9, 2022, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial of the cremated remains will be held at a later date at the Guss Iowa Cemetery. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
