Birthplace: Kimball, Nebraska Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa John D. Tebrinke, age 73, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. John Dean Tebrinke was born November 18, 1939 in Kimball, Nebraska the son of Bernice and Vera (McHenry) Tebrinke. He graduated from Red Oak High School in 1957 and attended aeronautical school in Kansas City before entering the United State Air Force. He returned to Red Oak in 1962 when he started working for the Department of Transportation Highway Commission. John was united in marriage to Nan Stilwell on March 31, 1973 in Maryville, Missouri. They lived all of their married life in Red Oak, Iowa. John was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he loved to sing in the choir. He was a YMCA member for many years and was instrumental in getting the Y started in Red Oak. John loved music, theater, hunting, fishing, and never missed a sporting event. He even coached Little League Baseball and Basketball when his kids were little. Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include his wife: Nan Tebrinke of Red Oak, IA; daughter: Lisa Tebrinke of Indianapolis, IN; son: Aaron Tebrinke and wife Corinda Launer of Beardstown, IL; sisters: Barbara Requist and husband Marvin of Red Oak, IA; Bernice Dean and husband Daniel of Pueblo West, CO; and Kathleen Barmann and husband Larry of Red Oak, IA; brother: Richard Tebrinke and wife Carolyn of Perry, IA; brother-in-law: John Stilwell and wife Barbara of Mountainview, CA; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday, June 24, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
