Birthplace: Omaha, Nebraska Resided In: Elliott, Iowa John E. Miner, Jr., age 49, of Elliott, Iowa, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014 at his residence. John was born May 15, 1965 in Omaha, Nebraska the son of John, Sr. and Mary Ann (McMichael) Miner. He was raised in Springfield, Nebraska and moved to Iowa in 1987. John was united in marriage to Leanna Turner in 1983 in Papillion, Nebraska. He owned and operated JMT Trucking Company and enjoyed working on trucks and cars especially body work and painting. John always loved spending time with his family and having cookouts. Preceding him in death were his son: Brian Miner and brother: Mike Miner. Survivors include his wife: Leanna Miner of Elliott, IA; daughter: Victoria Miner of Elliott, IA; parents: John and Mary Ann Miner of Emerson, IA; sister: Kelly Schram and husband Phil of Omaha, NE; brothers: Denny Miner of Emerson, IA and Jason Miner and wife Rainbow of Red Oak, IA; sisters-in-law: Lori Hoesing and husband Michael of Sioux City, IA; Lisa Muhlbauer of Plattsmouth, NE; and Kelly Nevitt and husband Darrel of Omaha, NE; nephews and nieces: Jake, Justin, and Jaimee Miner of Red Oak; Bobbi Jo and Philip Schram of Omaha, NE; Michaela and Mickenzie Miner of Red Oak, IA; Christopher Barton and wife Lisa of Papillion, NE; Elizabeth McPeek and husband Michael of Murray, NE; Jessica Sayre and husband Thomas J. of Moss Point, MS; Brett Muhlbauer and wife Lisa of Plattsmouth, NE; Samantha Wilson and husband Thomas J. of Moss Point, MS; Jackie Magneson and husband Josh of Glenwood, IA; and Shannon Nevitt of Omaha, NE; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Pastor Gary Walters officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday. Memorials are suggested to the Family of John Miner. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
