Birthplace: Coburg, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa John W. "Junior" Jones, age 81, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Sunday, March 25, 2007 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. John W. "Junior" Jones was born March 1, 1926 in Coburg, Iowa the son of John and Alta (Van Kirk) Jones. He attended school at Coburg and Red Oak. After his schooling he worked at Murphy Calendar Company until he turned 18, at which time he was drafted into the United States Air Force during WWII. After his military duty he worked in construction and at the Union Carbide. Junior was united in marriage to Fern Milgrove on July 13, 1950 in Red Oak, Iowa. They purchased their first restaurant in 1952 and later purchased the Rainbow Café. He was a former member of the American Legion and the Red Oak Eagles Lodge. Junior was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Fern Jones on May 19, 2001; son: John Jones; grandsons: Joe Jones and David Lee Jones; brothers: Lee, Riley, Kenneth, Chester, Delmont, and Jack Jones; and sisters: Bonnie Abbott, Nora Abbott and Naomi Spittler. Survivors include his son: Marty Jones and wife Cathy of Carbon, Iowa; daughter: Denice "Sis" Bogenreif and husband Jeff of Greenville, Illinois; grandchildren: Cindy Walker and husband Steve of Red Oak, Iowa; Angie Jones of Red Oak, Iowa; Jeb Jones of Des Moines, Iowa; Jenny Warren and husband David of Glenwood, Iowa; Amber Bryan of Red Oak, Iowa; Landon Jones of Seattle, Washington; and Andrew Jones and wife Susan of Red Oak, Iowa; great grandchildren: Carly and Macy Walker and Tara and Keegan Jones all of Red Oak, Iowa; Seth and Derek Warren of Glenwood, Iowa; and Abbey Jones of Red Oak, Iowa; brother: Wally Jones and wife Louise of Red Oak, Iowa; many nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Pastor Trevor Skalberg officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. There will be open visitation at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel.
