Birthplace: Omaha, NE Resided In: Emerson, IA John E. Miner, Sr., age 73, of Emerson, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016 in Mills County, Iowa from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. John was born May 1, 1943 in Omaha, Nebraska the son of Donald and Helen (Meissinger) Miner. He was raised in Springfield, Nebraska and graduated from Platteview High School. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann McMichael on June 20, 1962 in Omaha, Nebraska. They lived for many years in Papillion, Nebraska and moved to Montgomery County, Iowa in 1989 where John owned and operated Miner Trucking. John enjoyed fishing, cookouts, and spending time with his family. Preceding him in death were his parents; and 2 sons: Mike Miner and John Miner, Jr. Survivors include his wife: Mary Ann Miner of Emerson, IA; children: Kelly "Sissi" Schram and husband Philip of Omaha, NE; Denny Miner and wife Chris of Emerson, IA; and Jason Miner and wife Rainbow of Red Oak, IA; grandchildren: Jake Miner of Stennett, IA; Justin Miner of Stanton, IA; Jamiee Miner of Red Oak, IA; Philip Schram of Omaha, NE; Bobbi Jo Schram of Omaha, NE; Levi Miner of Emerson, IA; Victoria Miner of Council Bluffs, IA; Michaela Miner of Red Oak, IA; Dakota Miner of Emerson, IA; Mickenzie Miner of Red Oak, IA; and one on the way: Jason Miner, Jr. of Red Oak, IA; great grandchildren: Isabelle Miner of Stanton, IA; Kali Jo Schram of Omaha, NE; Truxtyn Franzen of Red Oak, IA; and one on the way: Delilah Miner of Stanton, IA; brother: Jerry Miner of Omaha, NE; sister-in-law: Dolly Pesek and husband Richard of Omaha, NE; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Monday, January 2, 2017 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
