Joanne Belle "Jody" Adams, age 85, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Arlington Place. Jody was born February 11, 1938 in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Dean and Nettie Belle (Davis) Rockwell. She graduated from Red Oak High School in 1955 and was united in marriage to Richard "Dick" Adams on June 17, 1956 in Red Oak. Jody worked at Thos. D. Murphy Co. for two years and Farm Tempo for a short time before starting to work at the Red Oak Express. She was a typesetter. Jody and Dick started their family and Jody was a homemaker while her kids were being raised. She and Dick purchased Red Oak Printing in 1995 and retired in 2017. Jody was a longtime member of the Hawthorne United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, cooking, baking, and painting.

Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother: Larry Rockwell. Survivors include her husband: Dick Adams of Red Oak, IA; son: Ric Adams and wife Roxanna of Villisca, IA; daughter: Deb Cary and husband Byron of Farragut, IA; 4 grandchildren: Joshua Johnson and wife Misty of Bennington, NE; Dustin Johnson and wife Kristie of Papillion, NE; Sarah Crossen and husband James of Omaha, NE; and Kelsey Park and husband Kyle of Carroll, IA; 8 step-grandchildren: Carrie Nunez and husband Paul of SeaTac, WA; Jason McCorkle of Audubon, IA; Joseph James and wife Jarin of Hendersonville, TN; Matthew Smith of Villisca, IA; Luke Smith and wife Danielle of Loveland, CO; Vic Schmidt of Iowa City, IA; Tracy Jones and fiancé Mike Morgan of Lincoln, NE; and Kelly Dallman of Spokane, WA; many great grandchildren; brother-in-law: Leonard Adams and wife Karen of Ft. Myers, FL; sister-in-law: Janice Jensen and husband Jerry of Johnston, IA; and many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held 2 PM Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel.
