Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Joan M. Lasley, age 70, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Sunday, January 25, 2004 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Joan M. Lasley was born March 22, 1933 in Red Oak, Iowa the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Frank Kemling. She was raised in the Wales area and graduated from the Wales Lincoln High School. Joan was united in marriage to David Lasley on September 20, 1951 in Red Oak, Iowa. After their marriage Joan worked at the Moore's Donut shop while her husband was in the service. She later worked for Gibson's and Pamida before starting with Hunt's Super Value. Joan had worked in the same building for over thirty years. It had been Jim's Super Value, No Frills Grocery Store, and now is known as the Discount Liquor Store. Joan was dedicated to her work, family, and her gardening. She loved her family and enjoyed the outdoors which included going on long family walks. For the past thirteen years Joan had a faithful friend in her pet Dachsund named Daisy. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: David Lasley on June 27, 1982; and a brother: Lawrence Kemling. Survivors include her son: Randall Lasley and his wife Jackie of Omaha, Nebraska; daughter: Cindy Terry and her husband Scott of Red Oak, Iowa; 4 grandchildren: Alexandra, Anastasia, and Olivia Lasley of Omaha, Nebraska; and David Terry of Red Oak, Iowa; sister: Frances Reynolds and her husband Ed of Griswold, Iowa; many brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. George Hooper and Rev. Craig Larsen officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Tuesday January 27, 2004 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Fire Department and the Heartland Home Health Hospice. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
