Birthplace: Denver, Colorado Resided In: Grant, Iowa formerly Red Oak Jimmy Lee Rosch, age 59, of Grant, Iowa formerly Red Oak, Iowa passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at his residence in Grant. Jimmy Lee "Jim" Rosch was born September 8, 1949 in Denver, Colorado the son of Robert William and Mary (Larson) Rosch. The family moved to Nodaway in 1950 and then Red Oak where Jim graduated from Red Oak High School in 1968. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Jim was an over the road trucker for many years living in various places in southwest Iowa. He moved back to Red Oak about nine years ago and recently purchased his home in Grant, Iowa. Jim was an avid sports enthusiast, loved to work on cars and trucks, loved motorcycles, and was always willing to help anybody in need. In his younger years Jim broke horses and was a fisherman. Jim also enjoyed CB radios, John Deere Tractors, being on the farm, and most of all spending time with his grandkids. Survivors include his children: Kim Gezel of Des Moines, Iowa; Brian Rosch and Lisa of Villisca, Iowa; and Christian Onik of Bellevue, Nebraska; grandchildren: Kristi Kifer of Des Moines, Iowa; Mallory Gezel of Des Moines, Iowa; and Dakota, Dalton, and Savanna Rosch all of Villisca, Iowa; great grandson: Seth William Helm of Des Moines, Iowa; parents: Robert William Rosch of Bakersfield, California and Mary Rosch of Red Oak, Iowa; many aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. JoAnn Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Villisca, Iowa Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 1-2 PM Monday prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. A memorial fund is being established in Jim's name. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
