Birthplace: Carbon, Iowa Resided In: Stanton, Iowa formerly Red Oak, Iowa Jessie Elizabeth Thompson, age 95, of Stanton, Iowa formerly Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Stanton Care Center. Jessie was born September 5, 1920 in Carbon, Iowa the daughter of Charles and Flossie (Pierce) Dalgetty. She was raised in Carbon, Iowa and was united in marriage to Leroy "Toots" Thompson of May 25, 1940 in Clarinda, Iowa. They lived many years in Red Oak, Iowa. "Toots" preceded her in death in 2006. Jessie moved to the Stanton Care Center in 2009. Jessie worked for 33 years at the Union Carbide Battery Plant and worked very hard on their farm near Red Oak. Jessie and "Toots" enjoyed many trips to Minnesota to enjoy the lakes. Jessie was preceded in death by her parents; husband: "Toots" Thompson on April 13, 2006; and sisters: Hazel Christie and Zeta Baker. Survivors include her daughter: Judy Benedict and husband Joe of Villisca, IA; grandchildren: Todd Benedict of Guthrie Center, IA and Jody Druivenga and husband Sean of Stanton, Iowa; great grandchildren: Dilan Druivenga of Norfolk, VA; Dakkota Druivenga of Kansas City, MO; and Devin Druivenga of Stanton, IA; and other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Quincy Cemetery in Adams County, Iowa. There will be open visitation at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
