Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Jeffrey J. "Jeff" Harris, age 37, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at the Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Jeffrey John "Jeff" Harris was born April 23, 1969 in Red Oak, Iowa the son of Byron and Sue (Lewis) Harris. He was raised in Red Oak and in 1987 graduated from Red Oak High School. While he was in school Jeff enjoyed playing football and lifting weights. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Gulf War. When Jeff completed his military service he returned to Red Oak where he worked at various manufacturing plants throughout the years. He was united in marriage to Dennell Collins on October 21, 1994 in Red Oak, Iowa. Jeff was a member of the Faith Community Church. He loved weight lifting, pro wrestling, video games, sports, and was a Bench Press Dead Lift competitor for several years at the Iowa Games. Jeff was always willing to help out a fellow worker at Eaton Corporation in Shenandoah. Jeff was a dedicated husband and father and loved his family very much. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Survivors include his wife: Dennell Harris of Red Oak, Iowa; children: Phoenix, Cydney, and Collin Harris all of the home; parents; Byron and Sue Harris of Shenandoah, Iowa; brother: Travis Harris of Shenandoah, Iowa; mother and father-in-law: Kathy and Terry Smith of Elliott, Iowa; father-in-law: Dennis Collins of Omaha, Nebraska; grandmother-in-law: Nadine Collins and partner Don Bennett of Papalo, Arizona; sister-in-law: Carra McCart and husband Matt of Thurman, Iowa; brother-in-law: Kenny Smith of Elliott, Iowa; niece: Hyela McCart of Thurman, Iowa; nephew: Anthony McCart of Thurman, Iowa; aunts and uncles: Pat and Deana Lewis of Elliott, Iowa; Cindy Harris of Red Oak, Iowa; Phil and Ruth Harris of Essex, Iowa; Belenda and Jerry Chambley of Winona, Mississippi; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, March 17, 2007 at the Faith Community Church with Pastor Trevor Skalberg officiating. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Friday, March 16, 2007 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
