Birthplace: Rural Stanton, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Jeanette Kathryn Bredberg, age 86, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away, Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Jeanette was born February 8, 1928 in Frankfort Township of Montgomery County near Stanton, Iowa the daughter of Clarence and Esther (Honette) Peterson. She graduated from Stanton High School in 1946 and earned a teaching certificate from Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa. Jeanette taught at Pleasant Dale West Township from 1946-1948. She then worked for Union Carbide until 1953. She was united in marriage to Lester Bredberg on November 28, 1953 in Red Oak, Iowa. Jeanette helped on the family farm and raised her family before starting back to work at the Learning Resource Center in 1975. After several years, she started a long career with Montgomery County Memorial Hospital as a Physical Therapy Tech retiring when she was over the age of eighty. Jeanette placed her faith in Jesus and was a long time member of the First Covenant Church where she served in many capacities including Sunday School Teacher, Covenant Women member, and Covenant Ministries. She also participated in County Extension, was a 4-H leader, and was a volunteer with the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Lester Bredberg on June 15, 2009; and two brothers: Clayton and Keith Peterson. Survivors include her children: Marlen Bredberg of Laurens, SC; Kristin Williams and husband Jeff of Hastings, NE; and Elaine Scheidecker and husband Craig of Smithville, MO; grandchildren: Becky Williams of New York City, NY; Andy Williams of Oregon, WI; Aaron Williams and wife Alicia of Bellevue, NE; Luke Scheidecker of Carbondale, IL; and John Paul Scheidecker of Smithville, MO; great grandson: Cade Robert Scheidecker; sisters-in-law: Jean Peterson of Stanton, Iowa and Dorothy Ann Moser of Indianola, IA; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the First Covenant Church. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Friday, January 2, 2015 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the First Covenant Church or the Physical Therapy Department at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
