Janice Marie Neal, age 81, of Malvern, Iowa formerly of Red Oak passed away Monday, November 28, 2022, at her home in Malvern, Iowa. Janice was born January 19, 1941, in Villisca, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Dorothy (Bishop) Neal. Janice was raised in Villisca and graduated from the Villisca High School in 1960. She then attended business school in Omaha, Nebraska. She started her working career at an ag manufacturing plant in Essex, Iowa. Janice was united in marriage to Gary McKinney and two children were born to this union: Steve and Stacey. After marriage they lived in Strahan, Iowa, and later Red Oak, Iowa. Over the years Janice worked for JC Penney Co., Montgomery County Social Services, Red Oak Building Center, and retired from R.K. Belt and Sons. Janice lived in Stanton, Iowa, from 1971 until 1985, when she moved back to Red Oak. She was currently residing in Malvern, Iowa. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Red Oak Eagles Lodge. Her hobbies included reading, gardening, and spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.
Preceding her in death were her parents; infant brother; brother: Larry Neal and his wife Margaret; and grandson: Derek Winchel. Survivors include her son: Steve McKinney and wife Vicki of Hastings, IA; daughter: Stacey Winchel and husband John of Malvern, IA; 11 grandchildren: Ryan Belt and wife Angie of Tabor, IA; Marie Knifley and husband Elwin of Brockton, IL; Jerry McKinney and wife Brianna of Panama City Beach, FL; Angel Paul and husband Justin of Elliott, IA; Gary McKinney and wife Melissa of Plattsmouth, NE; Danielle Carmichael (Josh Harmelink) of Plattsmouth, NE; Sheena Winchel of Malvern, IA; Cassi Walker (Chris Davis) of Henderson, IA; Billie Winchel of Clarinda, IA; Coral "Trey" Walker of Malvern, IA; and Chelsea Walker of Council Bluffs, IA; 34 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa. Burial will be at a later date at the College Springs Cemetery. Viewing and visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel.
