Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Omaha, Nebraska Janet Elizabeth Spracher, the daughter of Elmer D. and Dorothy D. (Wetterlind) Anderson, was born December 17, 1942, in Red Oak, Iowa, and passed away October 8, 2003, at the Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Janet grew up in Stanton, Iowa, where she attended school until her junior year. She then moved to Red Oak where she graduated from high school in 1960. After high school, Janet attended business school in Omaha, Nebraska, where she lived and worked until her death. For 23 years Janet worked for the City of Omaha as an executive secretary. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Omaha. Janet was known for her vast collection of various owl items. She loved animals and was very compassionate in her care for animals in need of help. Janet loved to travel the United States especially her many trips to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado to see the Aspen trees change their fall colors. Preceding Janet in death were her father and nephew, Joshua Eyre. Survivors include her husband, Howard Spracher of Omaha; mother, Dorothy Anderson, of Red Oak; sisters, Shirley Eyre of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Lesa Trost of Red Oak; nieces, Kristen Gibson and husband, Ray, of Omaha and Erin Trost of Arvada, Colorado; nephews, Kim and Jesse Trost of Red Oak; and Jason Eyre of Portland, Oregon plus other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, October 11, 2003 at the Nelson-Boylan- LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak with Reverend Michael Harvey officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. There will be open visitation at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
