Birthplace: Tabor, Iowa Resided In: Omaha, Nebraska formerly Red Oak, Iowa Janet Sue Harold, age 81, of Omaha, Nebraska formerly of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha. Janet was born December 20, 1939 in Tabor, Iowa, the daughter of Milo and Faye (Sanderson) Rorabaugh. Janet was raised near Hastings, Iowa before moving to Montgomery County. She graduated from Stanton High School in 1957 and was united in marriage to Wendell Harold on September 8, 1957. They made Red Oak, Iowa their home for many years until moving to Omaha. Janet was a homemaker, an active member of the First Christian Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, volunteered at the Hysham House, and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and was a Past President. In her younger years, she was a Girl Scout leader. Janet enjoyed camping, traveling, sewing, knitting, cooking, and keeping a meticulous house. She was so efficient, it was said, she could bake a pie while vacuuming the house. Janet also enjoyed spending time with her faithful companion "Rusty" the Pomeranian dog. Preceding her in death were her parents and son-in-law: Richard Placek. Survivors include her husband: Wendell Harold of Omaha, NE; daughters: Teresa Placek of Omaha, NE and Linda Calder and husband Alex of Lee's Summit, MO; grandson: Zachary Calder of Columbia, MO; sister: Marlene Johnson of Chandler, AZ; sisters-in-law: Florine Rife of Mondamin, IA and Phyllis Harold of Red Oak, IA; brother-in-law: Leland Harold and wife Pat of Clackamas, OR; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. A private family graveside funeral will be held 2 PM Friday, January 29, 2021 at the Evergreen Cemetery. There will be open viewing from Noon until 7 PM on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church or the Alzheimer's Association. Live streaming of the graveside service will be found on the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel's Facebook page. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel, Red Oak, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
