Birthplace: Montgomery County, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa James M. Watt, age 85, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Sunday, December 10, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Care Center. James Milburn Watt was born April 20, 1921 in Montgomery County, Iowa the son of Clyde and Elva (McPherson) Watt. The family moved to Lime Springs, Iowa in 1928 and later James graduated High School from Spring Hill, Iowa High School. James was united in marriage to Dorothy Parker on January 23, 1942 in Des Moines, Iowa. James enlisted in the United States Coast Guard on September 5, 1942. He and Dorothy lived in California while Jim was in the Coast Guard. They returned to live the rest of their lives in Red Oak, Iowa where James was employed as an equipment operator for the Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America until his retirement on February 1, 1978. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife: Dorothy Watt on May 13, 2006; and his sister: Thelma Griffith. Survivors include his son: Ronald Watt and wife Anna of Clinton, Iowa; two granddaughters: Barbara Gluesing and husband Brent of Dewitt, Iowa; and Shari Ruehling and husband Charles of Cameron, North Carolina; 2 great granddaughters: Chelsea and Ashlyn Gluesing of Dewitt, Iowa; brother: Dale Watt and wife Carol of Red Oak, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Duane Lacock officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery in rural Montgomery County, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
