Birthplace: Clarinda, Iowa Resided In: Villisca, Iowa James Michael Muller, age 66, of Villisca, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Jim was born June 13, 1954 in Clarinda, Iowa, the son of George and Lorraine (Snyder) Muller. He was raised in Villisca, Iowa, graduating from Villisca High School in 1973. He attended Iowa State University and later graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in 1979. During his schooling he was united in marriage to Connie Marsh on December 17, 1977 in Villisca, Iowa. Over the years, he worked for the Co-op in Villisca, United Farmers Mercantile, and ended his working career with Brown Sanitation where he retired. He was raised in the Presbyterian Church but was attending the Villisca United Methodist Church. Jim loved to play golf, was a member of the Villisca Country Club, and served as the board President at one time. Jim enjoyed tinkering and doing home improvement projects. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife: Connie on December 18, 2017; son: Andrew James Muller; sister: Judi Hepworth; and father-in-law: Richard Marsh. Survivors include his children: Annette Schnell and husband Stan of Gretna, NE and Michael Muller and wife Maggie of Ashland, NE; grandchildren: Grace and Amelia Schnell of Gretna, NE; brother: Jack Muller and wife Chris of Rapid City, SD; mother-in-law: Kathryn Marsh of Villisca, IA; brothers-in-law: Tony Marsh of Oregon; Donald Marsh and wife Paulette of Shenandoah, IA; Jeffrey Marsh and wife Bernice of Beaver Dam, VA; Kent Marsh of Villisca, IA; and Scott Marsh of Omaha, NE; and many other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at the Hacklebarney Park Main Shelter near Villisca, Iowa. The family would like to encourage everyone to bring a lawn chair if they would like. Burial of the cremated remains will take place in the Villisca, Iowa Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Villisca Rescue Unit or the Gift of Life Transplant House at Mayo Clinic. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Social distancing and face masks are encouraged.
