Birthplace: Mills County, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Jacqueline Yvonne Richards of Red Oak, Iowa passed away after suffering a sudden heart attack at 1:00 A.M. on Sunday, October 17, 2010. Jackie was born on March 30, 1937 to Floyd Clarence Hull and Thelma Louise Slump Hull in Rawles Township, Mills County, Iowa. She attended school at various locations including country school at the former Ratliff School north of Red Oak and finished her education in the Red Oak Public Schools. Jackie was always proud of her country school attendance and the good quality education she received there. Always a homemaker and excellent cook, Jackie devoted a good deal of her life to her family and to loving and sustaining the members of her extended family. In recent years she suffered from debilitating mental illness but fought hard with the help of medications to live a normal and meaningful life. She dearly loved her children, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and would be pleased to know that so many will gather together to celebrate her life and memory. Jackie's talents and interests included sewing, artistic painting and bowling with her friends in the After Lunch Bunch league here in Red Oak. Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother Larry Dean Hull. Survivors include her sister: Wrenie Dell Hunt of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her husband of almost 49 years Jonathan B. Richards of Red Oak, Iowa; 5 children: Cindy Lee Echternach and husband Mike of Red Oak, Iowa; James Tracy Richards and wife Jacque of Johnston, Iowa; Mary Louise Richards and husband Martin Lindeke of Eagle River, Alaska; Jonathan B. Richards III of Omaha, Nebraska and Paul William Richards and wife Diane of Des Moines, Iowa along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends living across the country. Jackie will be missed by so many who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace. Graveside funeral services will be held 3 PM Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Elizabeth Dilley officiating. Visitation with the family will be held from 1-3 PM Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with family and friends processing to the cemetery for the graveside service. A memorial fund is being established in Jackie's name. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
